Hi kulam,
I need some help from an ocean away. I'm in the USA and facing a visa issue.
Here's the deal.
I came here LEGALLY through the Jewish Agency on June 2011 with visa J1 (work issue). I wanted to travel in he east coast and crossed the border to Canada with my to change status to my valid (until 2013) B2 visa (tourist). This allows me to stay up to 6 months in the USA.
There was a problem in my passport (the Canadians didn't sign it when crossing there, so I had no proof that I exited the US legally), but eventually the border police let me in with a deadline - 7/1/2012 and a comment saying "no eos/no aos". The way I understand it, it means I can't apply for extension. I have no idea what "aos" means though. (does someone know?).
I want to stay 6 more months in the west coast. I have a flight booked for 4/1/2012, and I am willing to change it to stay, which will cost me at least $300 and up to $600. There's no point in doing that though, in case I know they won't let me in back to the USA.
I am working in all fronts now on finding out what are my chances to pull this off or getting an educated idea about this issue. I want to exit to Canada and try and come back. Question is:
If I'm a tourist with this comment of no extensions, I'm crossing a border after spending 6 months already, wanting to come back for another 6, will they let me in - procedure wise and likely wise?
is there something that is against procedure and rules here?
are my chances higher if I'm coming back to Israel and flying to the USA in 6 months from now?
any help would be really appreciated.
